ContactsThe Wholesome life

Quote by karma

If you love a flower, don’t pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation.

The Master said: When practicing the dharma, you must train perfectly in the ten foundations of training.

The lady Yeshe Tsogyal asked: What are these ten foundations of training?

The Master said: You must resolve through the view, gaining understanding of all the teachings, like the garuda bird soaring in the skies.

You must find certainty through the conduct, without being intimidated by anything whatsoever, like an elephant entering the water.

You must practice through the samadhi, clearing away the darkness of ignorance, like lightning a lamp in a dark room.

You must accomplish the aim through the instructions, liberating all phenomena in your nature, like finding a wish-fulfilling jewel.

You must progress gradually through the empowerments, being free from the fear of falling into samsara, like a prince ascending the royal throne.

You must keep the basis through the samayas, not letting any of your actions be wasted, like fertile ground.

You must liberate your being through learning, becoming adept in all aspects of the dharma, like a noble steed freed from its chains.

You must compare all sources, understanding all the philosophical schools of the dharma, like a bee seeking a hive.

You must condense them into a single point, understanding that all the numerous teachings are of one taste, like a trader adding together his profits.

You must reach eminence in knowledge, understanding clearly and distinctly the meaning of all the teachings, like arriving at the summit of Mount Sumeru.

Life (Ayu) is the combination (samyoga) of body, senses, mind and reincarnating soul. Ayurveda is the most sacred science of life, beneficial to humans both in this world and the world beyond.

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.

The gift of learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this lifetime.

The truth is that a better society will only arise through the evolution of the individual. This is because society is made up of millions of individuals. To count to a million, one has to start with number one, which means one has to start with the individual, the only real place one can actually begin to change something. This doesn't mean putting oneself first in an egotistical way, but rather it involves our coming to understand the condition of the whole of humanity through understanding our own experience. With this experience as our guide, we will know how to behave with awareness in any circumstance in every type of society.

The light of the sun is the manifestation of the clarity of the sky; and the sky is the basic condition necessary for the manifestation of the sun's light. So, too, in the sky two, three, four, or any number of suns could arise; but the sky always remains indivisibly one sky. Similarly, every individual's state of presence is unique and distinct, but the void nature of the individual is universal, and common to all beings.

As long as there is an ego, there are demons.
When there is no more ego, there are no more demons either!
If there is no ego, there is no more object to cut through,
Nor is there any more fear or terror.
Free from all extremes, co-emergent wisdom
Gives birth to the understanding of [the nature of] all phenomena.

When one comes to the essence of being, The shining wisdom of reality Illumines all like the cloudless sky.

Realization does not arise out of words. Understanding does not come from mere suggestions. I urge all those who work for enlightenment To meditate with perseverance and effort. Endurance and effort overcome the greatest of difficulties. May there be no obstacles for those who seek enlightenment.

In the monastery of your heart and body, you have a temple where all Buddhas unite.

We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like a shadow that never leaves.

What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.

My body is my temple and asanas are my prayers.

The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.

Your body exists in the past and your mind exists in the future. In yoga, they come together in the present.

Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees .

The highest point of yesterday should be the lowest point of toda.

Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.

Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.

The mind can go in a thousand directions, but on this beautiful path, I walk in peace. With each step, the wind blows. With each step, a flower blooms.

We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness.

I find one vast garden spread out all over the universe. All plants, all human beings, all higher mind bodies are about in this garden in various ways, each has his own uniqueness and beauty. Their presence and variety give me great delight. Every one of you adds with his special feature to the glory of the garden.

Whether you worship Christ, Krishna, Kali or Allah, you actually worship the one Light that is also in you, since It pervades all things.
