Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, better known as ‘Mahatma’ (meaning ‘Great Soul’) was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. He is today referred to as the “Father of the Nation” in India and is also a guiding light for many in aspects of life, spirituality and religion.
