Based on ANO Additional professional education “Methods and practice of yoga” (License of Department of Education of Moscow city № 029212 от 09.09.11) OUM.RU club opens yoga teachers courses for year 2014-2015.  


Andrey Verba – head of Moscow branch of Russian yoga Federation founder of OUM.RU club, where people can learn healthy lifestyle all over the world. Andrey is practicing yoga fr om year 1992, teaches yoga in Moscow and other regions, as well as leads yoga-tours all over the world.

During the course you will be able to improve your personal practice level significantly, learn important theoretical knowledge, obtain yoga teacher experience and learn new personal practice methods.

After successful examination passing a yoga teacher certificate is awarded:
First year – yoga teacher of group programs
Second year –yoga teacher of group and individual programs

In order to enroll you need to be a practicing yoga teacher or to have graduated from school, college, technical college or to attend a high school.

You need to bring or send via e-mail the following documents to get enrolled:
• application form(can be sent on request)
• application request(can be sent on request)
• copy of passport;
• copy of diploma;
• supporting documents, that verify your payment.

A candidate needs to pass interview as well.
For people from other cities interview can be organized via Skype. Should be arranged separately.

First year studying options:
• Standard yoga teacher course from 04.10.2014 till 16.05.2015
• Express yoga teacher course - from 04.07.2015 till 19.07.2015.
• For standard option online studying is available as well. You will be able to practice yoga, listen lectures and even ask questions online. It is also possible to pass examination online.

Lectures starts at 09.30. Ends at 16.00, no break for lunch is allocated.

All students are allowed to attend any yoga class free of charge. Those who study online- they can join via online translations.
Our recommendation is to practice yoga more frequently. Either at home, or come and join at our yoga center. All other classes are paid according to pricing policy.

After successful completion of course and examination passing one of the following certificates is awarded:
1. Certificate of successful yoga teacher course completion (license of Department of Education of Moscow city № 029212 from 09.09.11)
2. International yoga alliance certificate (YOGA ALLIANCE INT;L) YTTC-200 (allows to teach yoga outside of Russia as well)

Schedule of classes
Typical curriculum of the first year of yoga teacher course consists of 200 hours.
This year is devoted to learning wide range of asanas and pranayamas. Main goal of the first year is to improve body condition, obtain teaching experience with ability to show correct asanas. Also individual programs are developed for self-practice and origins of yoga are taught.

Program consists of lectures and practice. Total is 200 academic hours during 21 days or 7.5 months. It includes lectures, practice, but does not include examinations. Special attention during course will be devoted to methods of teaching yoga, sources and roots of yoga, as well methods of working with different types of groups: yoga for beginners, yoga therapy, yoga for kids, yoga for elder people.

First year students will obtain teaching experience in yoga for beginners as well.

Curriculum of the first year consists of the following parts:
1. Roots of yoga, Vedic culture
• Main yoga schools as instruments for working with body. Schools of different practices to know yourself better.
• History and philosophy of yoga.
• Bhakti, Jnana, Karma yogas. Hatha and Raja yoga. Types of breathing practices.
• Eight-limbed yoga of Patanjali. Yama,Niyama, Asana, pranayama.
• Sanskrit dictionary for yoga teacher.
• Main yoga texts study.
• Ethical and moral aspects of yoga: Yama and Niyama Universal law and daily yoga recommendations. Karmic aspects of these laws.
• Guna: Rajas, Tamas, Sattva.
• Mantras – universal meaning of these sound vibrations.
• Ancient yoga goals and modern ways of achieving these goals.

2. Theory and methods of different yoga style classes including individual classes.
• Typical yoga class structure. How to develop a training structure that fits group level and expertise. How to work with energy in the group.
• What is Vyama and its variations. Vyamas as preparatory practices and as whole system.
• Personal practice of yoga teacher.
• Regressive hypnosis as a way how to understand yourself and to discover your previous lives. Possibility to find concealed motivation of your behavior and roots of this behavior.

3. Anatomy and yoga therapy
• Musculoskeletal system. Bones structure. Types of joints. Anatomy and classification of muscles. Movement mechanics. Law of human body construction.
• Anatomy of central and peripheral nervous system. Basics of nerve impulse. Classification of nervous system. Endocrine system. Places wh ere glands located. Functions of glands. Historical development of nervous system.
• Basics of breathing organs and heart-vascular system. Importance of correct breathing for yoga. Connections between spine, vascular system, breathing and body position.
• Yoga and vegetation. What eating habits help to practice and to develop yourself.
• Women’s yoga in menstruation period. Yoga for pregnant women. Kids yoga.
• Shatkarmas. Physical and energy aspects of shatkarmas. Types of shatkarmas.
• Causes and ways how illness appears. How to heal children illness. Recommended nutrition for pregnant woman.
• Anatomy and biomechanics of spine. Different parts of spine. Connections between spine pelvis and legs. Basic principles of safe yoga practice and yoga therapy.
• Lardosis and kyphosis. Principles of yoga therapy. What should be taken into consideration in yoga practice.

4. Practice:
• Asanas.
• Distinctive features of same asanas depending way to do it.
• Different difficulty levels of asanas.
• Special exercises for opening hip joints, preparatory techniques for difficult asanas like lotus pose etc.
• How to structure a yoga class.
• Specialization in different yoga styles (Iyengar yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Kundalini yoga) adequate treatment of spine.
• Creating a yoga complex depending on group level.
For lessons and practice of different yoga styles, instructors from according school will be invited.

Only those students who have attended all classes are allowed to take examination.

Exams: there will be an exam on theoretical part of classes, an exam on asanas practice and pedagogical aspects of yoga teaching, and exam on methodological aspects of structuring yoga class.
After completion of course you will have to pass written exam on theoretical part of course and conduct a part or whole yoga class, as an exam of practical part.
It is possible to attend some practices or lectures only, but in this case people will not be allowed to pass examination.

Curriculum of the second year
Second year program consists of 100 hours, and includes both theoretical and practical parts as well. It is aimed at learning how to teach asanas, conduct yoga classes, prepare different difficulty levels classes and receive real yoga teaching experience.
Lecture part:
• History of yoga, its styles and types.
• Anatomy of human body (sceleton, muscle, heart-vascular system)
• General humans physiology
• Methods of preparing and conducting yoga classes

• Learning and practicing asanas of basic course
• Explanation of yoga teaching methodology, building asanas and classes preparation
• Presentation of different yoga styles
Exams: theoretical exams during studying and practical exam on asanas and teaching skills.
People who successfully passed examinations will receive certificates of yoga teacher of group and individual programs.
