Journey to the Places of Buddha

October 13th-27th, 2019, 14 days

Yoga-tour in India would be interesting for anyone who follows the path of self-improvement, who is dreaming about India for a long time, who is looking for a good company and guide for the trip, and also who falled in love in India and wants to practice there again.

During the yoga tour in India, we plan to visit the places connected with the life of Buddha Shakyamuni and the great yogis and yoginis. Moreover, not only in order to "see", but in order "to practice."

For those who follow the Path of spiritual development, Buddha Shakyamuni recommended to visit four places associated with his life: Lumbini - the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama; Sarnath - the place where he gave his first teachings; Bodhgaya - the place, the attainment of enlightenment under the Bodhi tree; Kushinagar - the place of leaving of the Buddha in parinirvana.

This "places of power" where, according to eyewitnesses, happens unusual and even mystical events. Energy of such places will significantly help advance the practice of meditation and in the awareness of the inner world.

The practice of yoga in India

Our yoga-tour offers:

  • daily hatha yoga or pranayama - depending on the weather conditions, we’ll be engaged to practice asanas or pranayama (breathing exercises for accumulation of energy);
  • discussions on the themes of Vedic culture and stories of the places that we visit during yoga tour;
  • traditional part of the program: chanting mantra AUM (OM).

During the yoga tour we’re planning lectures about history and Buddhist practices and lectures about Vedic culture. Wh ere it’s possible, we’ll conduct yoga classes, we’ll practice pranayama and meditation. Yoga in India, in the places of great practitioners, is fulfilled with the special meaning.

If you are novice practitioner, don’t practice at all, but you really want to come, or somebody from your closest friends and family wants to join you in yoga-tour - it’s also possible, because this journey is really interesting from the touristic point of view too.

  • Bodhgaya - the place of Buddha’s Enlightenment
  • Gridhakuta - the place near Rajgir city, wh ere Buddha is still reading “The Sutra of the Lotus Flower of the Wonderful Law”.
  • Tathagata - the highest title among the teachers who are on the path of development and dissemination of knowledge
  • Shariputra (Sariputta) was born and lived after he passed the initial learning of the Buddha, in the city of Rajgir. Shariputra was responsible for the spiritual development of this region. There he was cremated.
  • Ananda - Buddha's nephew. Mission of Ananda, thanks to his phenomenal memory, was to remember all the Buddha's speech and to express them. Ananda lived 250 years, buried in Vaishali. His stupa with ashes is in Vaishali, which OUM.RU Club visits each year.
  • Rahula - son of the Buddha, which became a disciple of the Buddha after his adulthood. Rahula’s soul, in the future lives, will always be born as son of coming Tathagatas.
  • Tilopa - outstanding yogi of the past. It can be said, the father of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Tilopa had a disciple Naropa, from Naropa to Marpa, from Marpa to Milarepa. Milarepa's disciples began to develop the Karma Kagyu lineage, which has been preserved in the same form to the present day.
